Video Title / CaptionEvery winter I make a big, huge batch of ketchup that lasts us all year! Most of the time ketchup contains high fructose corn syrup, which my kids and I are allergic to. The healthier ketchup is terribly expensive, but I can save several dollars per jar if I do it myself. It's crazy easy! Stir it up, heat it up, can it up. This recipe makes 16 pint jars! Note: I like to use raw honey in our ketchup, but it does have a slightly different taste than what you're used to. You can use the same amount of normal sugar if you wish! Ingredients: 1 number 10 can tomato paste 13 3/4 cups water 4 1/2 cups honey or sugar 6 TBSP onion powder 6 1/4 TBSP salt 2 1/3 cups Apple cider vinegar Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and water bath can for 10 minutes for half pint jars and 15 for pint. Done! One other tip on the tomato paste - you may have a hard time finding an enormous can of tomato paste. If so, you'll just need to use enough tomato paste to equal 110oz, so about 7 1/2 15oz cans. #homemadecondiments #waterbathcanning #fromscratchcooking #modernhomestead #canning
