There’s nothing more frustrating than the feeling of getting close, and never arriving, but it’s more common than people think. Os exist on a spectrum meaning there’s no one “right” way to experience one. But if you consistently feel like you're missing the “finale” altogether despite adequate excitement or stimulation, you may be experiencing anorgasmia. Anorgasmia occurs when a person is unable to achieve an O despite adequate stimulation and desire. It can affect anyone, but is far more common in those afab. Also, under the umbrella of anorgasmia, there are a few different types. It isn’t just about "not trying hard enough", an O is a very complex physiological and psychological process involving your brain, your hormones, nervous system, your emotional state, relationships, health, and even sleep and nutrition all play a role. Some common blocks include: 🧠 Anxiety, shame, or lack of emotional safety ⛅️Hormonal imbalances, nerve damage, or chronic illness 💤 Sleep deprivation, stress, or medication side effects ❤️ Feeling disconnected from your body or partner The good news? It’s treatable. Whether through therapy, hormone support, pelvic floor therapy, or simply learning more about your body, there is a path toward pl3asure. Your body isn’t broken, it might just need a little support. Remember: action doesn’t have to end with a grand finale for it to feel amazing and be meaningful.
