This yummy dessert appetizer is always a favorite 😍 ✨INGREDIENTS ✨ * 2 sheets puffed pastry * 2 cups Nutella hazelnut spread (as desired) * 2 Tablespoons coarse sanding sugar * 1 egg (+water for wash) * 20 cinnamon candies * Garnish: * 2 fresh rosemary sprigs ✨INSTRUCTIONS ✨ 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. 2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 3. Roll out a sheet of puffed pastry and lay it on the baking sheet. 4. Cut out a christmas tree shape to fill the baking sheet length and width. (see video) 5. Use a star shaped cookie cutter to make the tree topper out of scrap dough. (if desired). Complete the star with a filling and two layers of pastry. set aside. 6. Spread Nutella in an even layer out to the edges of the tree shape. 7. Roll out the second puffed pastry sheet and lay it over the nutella spread. 8. Press the star shaped tree topper onto the pastry tree top if using. 9. Press the pastry firmly onto the nutella to create an outline. 10. Cut around that outline to make the finished filled tree shape. 11. Cut through the pastry sides to make the branches. DO NOT cut through the tree center. (see video) 12. Twist each branch of the tree in the same direction to create evenly spaced tree branches. 13. Mix egg and 1 tablespoon of water in a cup. Brush it over the entire pastry. This creates a shine on the pastry and helps hold on the decorations. 14. Decorate the egg washed dough as you wish. We used coarse sanding sugar, cinnamon candies and powdered sugar. We have also used green and white M&Ms and other decorations. It's all good. You do you! If using chocolate candies like M&Ms do NOT add them before baking. 15. Bake 15 minutes. Cool, finish decorating as desired 16.
